A) About horses:

1. What are the  5 most common pathologies of horses? Mention them and give a little description too.

1. Colic

What it is: Acute gastrointestinal distress which can be caused by anything from impaction in the intestines to a stomach ache from eating too much or too fast.
Symptoms: Biting the stomach, rolling in the stall, refusal to eat, tacky gums and stilled or lessened movement in the stomach.

2. Laminitis

What it is: A disease of the hoof that inflames the digital laminae making it difficult for the horse to walk without pain.
Symptoms: Favoring the affected hoof, profuse sweating, a full work up at the vet must be done to fully identify a case of laminitis.

3. Founder

What it is: Founder is not so much one disease but rather a complication of a disease allowed to go without treatment for a long time. Most horses with Founder are also neglected.
Symptoms: Founder is caused by the sinking of the coffin bone through the hoof frog making standing and movement nearly impossible.

4. EPM

What it is: Equine protozoal myeloencephalitis is found most commonly in the southern states and is a protozoal disease that causes neurological problems.
Symptoms: Moving as though drunk, muscular atrophy
Treatment: All treatments for EPM are drug related and require veterinary care. If you suspect your horse is suffering from EPM, contact your veterinarian immediately.

5. Equine Influenza

What it is: Horse flu, similar to human flu

Symptoms: Fever, dry cough, increased mucus production, despondency

Treatment: Equine influenza is high contagious, so treatment should be started immediately as to avoid infecting an entire herd. There is no direct antibiotic for fighting it; indeed the best methods of overcoming the illness are rest and recovery.  Vaccines are available to help prevent outbreaks.

I like this website because is didactic and very entertaining, especially for kids. Here you can read little notes and see pictures of the babys and bigs duck. You can copy the photos and see where they lives in a big map!

1. Visit: Animals > Photos

We can see a Europe's native red squirrel  in the snow, I think is a winter very cold. Probably east looking for food. This picture is very funny! I've never seen a squirrel in the real life, but I hope see one of this beautifull animals! 

In this picture we can see the  European bison, he lives in In Europe's wild east and in the past they inhabited the continent's woodlands. I liked the image because they have a beautifull fur.

In this video we have a group of professionals that make the first exam of this giraffe, it's a female and she called Jeremy, she measures 77 inches tall and she weighs 71 pounds. In this place they have about 4 births per year. This is a dangerous work because a baby giraffe's kick can break human bones. Is important to know that giraffes endures a 5 foot drop to the ground upon being born.

In this video Tiger Cubs Pass Swim Test. They are two tigers of the  National Zoo in Washington, DC., they are called Bandar and Sukacita. The two Sumatran tiger cubs learned to swim, and was not a pleasant experience for them, but it is useful for them. It's a beautifull moment.

I recomend this section is for kids but I think it can be for all ages,is a very easy form to learn, and is not boring, you can see videos and specific descriptions of the animal that you want learn.

 *when I was a child I wanted to be a doctor, I wanted to be cashier because I loved this play and I can´t remember anything more :( 

 * My others options was pharmaceutical chemistry, and medicine. 

 * Really It was a sudden desicion, I chosee this carrer because I want to help and make different things and now I´m very happy whith my choice and the people I've met.

* My experience until now is very nice, I have to study a lot but a loved my carrer and some times is difficult but when you like something everything is possible. Although is difficult live without a part of my family, I have to be very efficient

* Probably is too early to answer that question, my dream is have a clinical (very beautiful ) and a pet shop, and a lots of animals!!! but maybe when i finished my career has a different vision  from now.

I Don´t now which is my favorite animal, but I have a lot of respect at this animal, the horse.
They have a diferent types of  colours. The horses are enormously strong, they are very fast, they have a great character, and they are still wild in some places. Some people use them for work, for competition, etc. 
Asian nomads probably domesticated the first horses some 4,000 years ago. Horses still hold a place of honor in many cultures, often linked to heroic exploits in war. 
Horses are herbivores, meaning they eat grass and other plants. The typical diet for a normal, healthy horse is a combination of roughage (hay) and concentrates (grains).
Most horses are domesticated, but there are a few wild ones that can be found. A horse's habitat consist of open and wide fields  where they can graze on herbs and grasses. In the wild, they often roam in herds or groups. They are found in all parts of the country. You will find wild horses mostly in rural areas, and tame horses everywhere. There are horses where it is hot, such as Florida, and horses where it is very cold, such as Minnesota
I like the horses because they are cuties and because they are glamorous and powerful! maybe someday i can have one!

I'm not a fanatic of the technology, but If I have to choose, i would say cell phones. I got it when I was about 10 years, I have my dad phone! I use my phone to listen music or radio, to alarm clock, to call, to send messages, social networks, etc. I use it all the day, I wake up with the alarm of my phone, then I go to the university and sometimes I look the clock or I have to call. I like the phones because they are small, practical, now they are so advanced that they seem to a computer, and you can use the internet!  is awesome! I think if cell phones don't exist or if I don´t had it, would be more difficult communicated at and be updated, but maybe we but maybe we would be more aware of the day to day.

 1) History Channel: I like this program because you can lern about de history, and you can whatch documentaries. 

2) Discovery home & health: I thike this program because you can whatch "Emergencias Bizarras", and some series hospitals related.

3) Fox: I like this channel because I can whatch "The Simpsons", this program is very funny and I like see it every afternoon

My Favorite Band!!

Usually I don´t listen much music, but for study I always listen relaxing music or classic music. I love classic music, in the high school I had classes of this type of music, in a beginning I hate it, but now I love it!.
When I was a little girl I love a band called Glup!, I know few persons don´t know who is this band. Glup is a chilean band, in 1996 they created his first demo, and in 1999 they make his first disc. Glup play pop music. I like this band because I remember my childhood, and I remember a lots of goods moments. Really I like many songs, they all are very special for my. I attached a song, it calls "valiente", I hope you like it!

Who I am?

Paulina Saldaña Loreto Fuentes was born on November 15.1994 Osorno in Chile. His mother during her studies in Nutrition at the “Universidad de Chile” and his father study Biochemistry at the same university.She has a sister that is currently studying Graphic Design at the “Universidad de Chile”. In elementary school, he studied first in Osorno College and then finished secondary studies in the French Lycée Claude Gay Alliance of Osorno too.

Paulina began studying veterinary medicine at the Universidad de Chile in Santiago in 2013. Currently she is studying the same. Her motivation to study veterinary medicine was for help all of the animals that could be possible and help them with their rights.

She likes all kind of music, especially happy music and classic music. She loves the piano and her dream is sometime learn to play it. She loves the art too and draw and paint.
